Glacier National Park en Plein air 3 day workshop.
This is a rare opportunity. We have been granted permission to hold this workshop inside Glacier National Park!
Participants will receive a free copy of Putnam's booklet "Plein air, Right from the Start." The workshop will include lectures and demonstrations; individual painting time; personalized instruction; and group discussions aimed to promote participant progress. While demonstrations and advice on technique will be geared toward oil painters, artists who are more comfortable working in other mediums are welcome.
A word about where to stay: Accommodations can be a little bit of a drive, but it is a beautiful drive! There are several options in West Glacier, but they fill rapidly. We will be meeting at the North end of Lake McDonald at the historic Wheeler Cabin. If possible you will want to find lodging on the WEST side of Glacier Park. (Look as far west as Kalispell. The Red Lion Inn has special rates. You would need to call and ask for them. (406) 751-5050.) I am staying at the Belton Chalets which is inside the park near the South end of Lake McDonald. Still a 20-minute drive due to the park speed limit. See you there!
Workshop fee = $600 non-museum members/$540 museum members.
Experience Level: Advanced-Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Painters welcome.
