Arrival and Lodging for TN Workshops:

An itinerary for your workshop will be sent to you approximately 30 days prior to start date.
The workshop base is my studio: 1225 Breeden Rd., Charlotte, TN 37036. This is also the address you may use should you need to ship any materials. Please mark them clearly with your name. Ship items to arrive in plenty of time!
Arrival:
By Plane: Nashville International Airport (airport code is BNA) is approximately 1 hour from the Charlotte, TN studio. You will need a rental car during your visit here. Charlotte is in the countryside, and rests in a triangle between Clarksville, Dickson, and Nashville.
By Car from Nashville Area and Airport: The studio is located about 1 hour west of Nashville, TN, off of I-40. If coming from this direction, there are lots of options. Here is one we frequently use:
Follow I-40 W and take exit #192 McCrory Lane, merge right toward Pegram

Turn right onto TN-47

Take the 1st left onto Breeden Rd
Studio is on the right about half-way down Breeden Rd. If you get to Hwy. 49, you missed us.
There is a mailbox with numbers and a Putnam Studio sign on the post.
GPS: May take you to the house next door. Please double-check the mailbox for address and signage.
Parking: Follow directional signs posted along the driveway.
Lodging:
Charlotte is the county seat of Dickson County, and the town of Dickson is the nearest, larger town to us. Dickson is also the nearest location for lodging. You will want to consult a map for exact directions to the studio from your hotel. These locations are near Hwy. 70 and/or Hwy. 47. If you are going directly to your lodging from the Nashville airport, follow I-40 W but do not take exit #192 as mentioned above. Look for exit #172 instead for: Hampton Inn, Days Inn, Best Western, Comfort Inn, and other similar chain hotels.
On our property is a new cottage. It is detached from the house/studio proper. The cost is $119/night. It has an open plan with two beds, a small sitting area, a bathroom with a shower, and a kitchenette. There are plenty of extra towels and sheets provided. We do not provide daily cleaning service. Montgomery Bell State Park offers several types of lodging. Ask for one of the newer rooms in the inn, consider sharing one of the cabins if you know of anyone with whom that would be fun, or pitch a tent or park your RV at the campground.
There are also a couple of hotels in Kingston Springs (but I have not had anyone stay there yet to report on them.)
Airbnb.com and BedandBreakfast.com: Now list lots of options in and near Charlotte. Also look at Ashland City, Kingston Springs, and of course, Dickson.
Roads are curvy and you should allow about 30 minutes to get to the studio if staying in Dickson.

Where Can I Pick up Something for Lunch?:
Welcome to rural Tennessee! Here are a few places to pick up a sandwich, snacks, salad, etc. A refrigerator is available for use. We do NOT have a microwave.
We offer sandwich orders every day for you from the Amish Country View Market. You will place your order using order pads provided and your lunch will be picked up and delivered to you wherever we are. The cost is about $5.00–$8.00 depending on what you choose. Should you want to visit (it is a cool place) Country View Market is located about 6 miles 3368 Hwy 48 N., Charlotte, TN 37036. Opens at 8:00 a.m.
Alternately:
Cee Bee (small grocery) about 5 miles Charlotte, TN 37036 . Opens at 7:00 a.m.
Subway about 6 miles 3381 Hwy 48 N. , Charlotte, TN 37036. Opens at 8:00 a.m.
Corner Café Downtown Charlotte, TN 37036 (approx. 3 miles from studio). Open for breakfast and lunch only.
Wal-Mart, Kroger, Dickson, TN
Publix, Kroger, Sprouts, Bellevue, TN (about 35 minutes from the studio, toward Nashville).
There are lots of groceries and restaurants along Hwy. 47 in Dickson. Dickson is the largest nearby town and has almost anything else you might need.
